Honeymoon trip

Hey there! My fiance and I are planning to go to Banff late august/early sept of 2027 for our honeymoon. We love to hike and are very active (marathon runners), so more physically intensive hikes are fine. I’m planning to stay somewhere within the park, and rent a car (from what i’ve seen it’s the best way to make sure you can access all the trails).

What are your recommendations for hikes? As well as stays around the park area?

Taper weirdness

Has anyone else had really weird metrics and overall feelings during marathon taper? this is my first time training for a marathon so i wasn’t sure what to expect. but my HRV is 20 or so points higher than usual, so much so that my watch is saying it’s now unbalanced. my resting heart rate is down 5-10 bpm on average (i’m a little over a week in so these stats have been going on for about a week). i’ve also noticed that i am SO anxious. not about the race really, but just about pretty much anything my brain can grasp at. it feels like my brain is like hey, you should be worried about something! it’s been hard to sleep and i’ve been super restless. such a weird experience lol? anyone else?

first marathon

Hey there! Running my first marathon next saturday. Wanted to hear your thoughts about doing my usual Monday lower body strength training the week of? This consists of some heavy squatting, leg extensions, weighted calf raises, etc. Is it recommended to hold off for the week to have fresher legs?
