Is AMC planning on doing away with accepting photo id for a list tickets

The last few times I've been to AMC, a couple different locations, the ticket taker has pushed about me adding my profile picture. I'm not going to for the same reason I wouldn't upload it to Google for Youtube, thank God they haven't asked me for my main account yet. Anyway it almost sounds like with as aggressively as they're pushing it they're going to stop accepting IDs as a form to prove your identity which I would much rather do. Any truth to my theory? Also this post immediately got removed on the main sub.

The best thing about having my days off be during the week is that there's almost no one at the movies during early showtimes. I just saw Michael, had the theater to myself and loved every minute of it.
