Minimum cost to stay in the city for 3 months

Hi all, I'm from the UK and 24 years old. I really want to trial living in NYC for around 3 months. I could go to 2 months, but ideally 3 or so. I'm low-key broke rn, but I'm recieving 2k soon and currently looking for a job so I can save up as well. My step dad knows someone who could get me a job in their bar, and he's asking around if I could get accomodation too.

My mother has family there, my cousin's, who she thinks could possibly let me stay in a room. They are in the outskirts of the city though. So everything is up in the air right now. I would only go with some kind of income source lined up, even if it's part time. And affordable accommodation. How much would I have to save at the very least to be comfortable living there for 3 months? I don't want the trip to turn into survival mode and not experience the city to it's full potential. So any advice would be amazing.

Thank you!

Can someone help me understand vogue?

Like it just seems like it's all adverts now. I don't understand why it's a luxury magazine, I'd get it if there was articles on how to dress and what's trendy. Maybe there is but online flip throughs, all I see it's adverts in each page.

One person once said the ads were the bread and butter of the magazine. So like are the adverts what people follow when they go shopping? I'm not sure how that works.

Basically what am I missing? I'd love to get into fashion magazines but I don't know know if vogue is worth it.

Also do you think it's worth getting as someone who isn't middle class or rich (lol) like I can't exactly afford luxury handbags. Is there any vogue followers who are inspired by what's popular/luxurious but have a more affordable interpretation?

Should I just go for another magazine suited for me. If so what would anyone suggest?

Thank you! 🫪
