I’m planning to go from San Jose to Tortuguera, stay 3 nights allowing 2 days for tours. Then Tortuguera to La Fortuna, again for 3 nights, 2 days for tours. La Fortuna to monteverde. My plan was 3 nights in monteverde again allowing travel time and two days for trips. The guidebook lonely planet then recommends going to Montezuma.

I am wondering if monteverde to Montezuma is worth it? I’ll need to get from Montezuma back to San Jose. I have 12 days to roam around in total before going back to San Jose for one night and flying home.

It will be in July, and I’ll be using shuttles/public transport.

What do you think?
