Biology Bachelor Degree
I want to use my biology degree as a gateway to get into medical school that allows me to have easier preparation for MCAT and research opportunities since i’ll be going to UH an R1. My main concern for my family is that if medical school doesn’t work out and I don’t get in, what is my backup plan or atleast what could I be working in that uses my biology degree. I get that’s it’s a broad degree but I believe that makes it more flexible to apply to different areas of jobs right? I just want to know what type of jobs are available for someone like me, and I plan on building a resume in the healthcare field while in college of course for my medical school admission (hopefully it works out) but also using these clinical experiences in my advantage for getting a job in relation to my biology degree. Please share the reality many of you have with your biology degree, what your prior experiences and skills were, and finally the question… is this a dead end major. Should I still be pursuing this if my main goal is to get into medical school, because I actually do like biology.
