Fibroid surgery after suffering for years

I've known about my fibroid for years. Maybe 8 years? It remained between 4cm to 8cm for the longest of time, but the last few years, my symptoms increased, and I had to get frequent iron infusions.

In my last MRI it showed a 12 cm fibroid and another small 2 cm fibroid. I'd always been scared of getting the surgery, especially because I'm single. Was scared of the scar and compromising my fertility as I really want to have children, but I've realized that this myomectomy is actually fertility preserving and if I don't get it. I'll probably just bleed out. I have never known a normal period. They last me 10 days of average and 15 days most months with the heaviest beung crazy haemorrhaging like bleeding.

My surgery is booked & I'm just feeling nervous telling any potential love interests about it, especially as they'd want children soon. The scar also scares me.

I'm steeling my nerves. Please suggest how not to be scared of the future.
