The REAL unfinished business of "Unfinished Business" S03 E03

My friends, at risk of sounding insane, I do believe I've figured out what really happened in Season 3 Episode 3 *Unfinished Business.* Unfortunately, after having pieced it all together, I think I might be turning into a conspiracy nut, because the only way I can explain the missing pieces is if this episode doesn't make sense *on purpose.*

Reveal #1: >!Lowell Dixon was never murdered!<

Reveal #2: >!The Juniper Lake Resort was a money laundering scheme created so the New England Mafia could secretly bribe politicians!<

If you think I'm crazy, re-watch the episode and see for yourself. I find all the characters' unusual or illogical behavior becomes very logical with these two reveals. The only thing I can't figure out is *why* this was cut from the episode. Was there perhaps outside pressure to remove all mention of the second reveal?

What do y’all think?

Am I nuts?

Or is this whole episode a conspiracy?

I made the mistake of watching this episode and now I can't stop thinking about it! I think the unfinished business of Unfinished Business is supposed to be >!a money laundering scheme !< but no matter how I slice it I can't quite get all the loose ends to tie up.

I feel like I'm close to figuring it out but In have so many loose ends, does anyone have any ideas?

>! If the resort was a money laundering scheme, why does the owner, Jake, seem to know nothing about it❓ Did Seth know about the money laundering ❓ If so, did he know this going in, or did he find out later❓ Why was Joe Cabrini able to blackmail Barney for a decade but Gary is immediately killed for it❓ Jessica states that the murder of Lowell Dixon was perfect, how is this possible, especially if both Joe, and later Gary were able to blackmail Barney about the incident❓ Was Lowell Dixon not actually murdered aftee all❓ Terry openly confesses to Cynthia that he was in a sleeping bag by the lake all night, in the same place and time that Barney had supposedly fallen from a broken ladder rung, yet no one ever mentions or asks him about it❓ As Sheriff McCoy points out, Terry had no problem cancelling his plans and coming down to the resort the night before, but then once Sheriff McCoy locks the place down he is suddenly worried about his patients and wants to leave❓ Barney retired not once, not twice, but three times, why❓ Was he pushed out and weaseled back in or was he trying to retire but was forced to come back❓ If Barney knew the truth about Lowell Dixon, why did he make such a big stink about it all those years ago❓ He was a dirty cop so why was he making the mess more public ❓ Was he trying to get the case out of sheriff McCoy’s jurisdiction ❓ Or was he trying to prove a point ❓ Were Terry and Barney actually both working together ❓ if so, were they also working for the New England Mafia ❓ What was it that brought Lowell Dixon to the Resort in the first place ❓!<

I just don't know, there are just way too many strings to tie up.  What do you think? Does any of this add up?  What am I missing?

Sorry for the long paragraph in the middle, had to edit it a bunch of times to get the spoiler thingies to work.

Murder she wrote, Season 5, Episode 7: The Last Flight of the Dixie Damsel

Perhaps this has been posted many times before, but the plane. The plane!! Please let me explain the plane!! IMDB says this is a plot hole, IT IS NOT PLOT HOLE!! Spoilers for S5 E7 below.

>!The plane landing without being destroyed!< is NOT a plot hole. It's not explained by Jessica in the show, but the details of the plot all fit.  PLEASE, ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN THE PLANE!

Earlier in the episode, Jessica points to >!a photo of the murdered military man (Gagliano) and asks where his parachute is. Colonel Goddard, a skipper at the time of the crash, testifies that he always makes sure everyone jumps off the plane before him. The other surviving crew members (including Jessica’s husband) also all claimed that they thought Gagliano jumped with them and was later lost. None of them understood how Gagliano could be found still on the plane!<

>!It was later discovered that there was a sixth man (Ciccarelli) hiding/being smuggled (by Gagliano) in the unlocked (pre-drilled holes) trunk of the Cadillac they were transporting!<

>!The question Jessica Fletcher pointed out earlier, Where is Gagliano’s parachute? implies that there were only five parachutes aboard the plane (just enough for five crew members). However, there were actually six men on the plane (not enough parachutes). When the pilot made the order to jump out and abandon the plane, Ciccarelli and Gagliano fought over the fifth parachute. Ciccarelli then shot Gagliano, took his parachute, and jumped out with the other men!<

>!No one noticed Gagliano was left behind, because, as per their original testimony, the crew really did see a fifth man jump with them, they just didn't realize it wasn’t Gagliano. Ciccarelli (with Gagliano’s parachute) landed with the rest of the crew and later slipped away, getting “lost” before they could realise he wasn't actually their fifth crew member. This matches the crew’s original testimony that Gagliano jumped from the plane but was separated from the group later in the storm!<

>!Meanwhile, the real Gagliano was shot, but he didn't die immediately. Instead, left without a parachute, he focused on his only other option for survival: successfully land the plane. Against the odds, Gagliano took over the auto-pilot and landed. Unfortunately, he was still bleeding out from the gunshot wound. He tried to radio for help, but, per earlier testimony of the crew, the storm blocked communications and Gagliano died while waiting out the storm. Thus, he and the plane were lost, frozen in perfect condition for 35 years!<

In conclusion, the plane is not a plot hole, just a story telling gap.

Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings.

Edited to fix the spoiler highlights
