We launched a digital loyalty system for Philippine SMEs - GoBalik PH
Me and my friend built GoBalik — a digital loyalty / customer retention platform for small businesses in the Philippines.
We officially launched around mid-April and now have 50+ merchants across the country using the platform, mostly cafés, milk tea shops, and salons.
One thing that genuinely surprised us is how many businesses focus heavily on customer acquisition, but barely track repeat customers at all.
A lot of owners spend on boosted posts, influencers, and promos, but still rely on paper stamp cards (or nothing) when it comes to retention.
After seeing actual merchant data through GoBalik, we realized customer behavior becomes very different once rewards are:
- consistent
- easy to claim
- digital
- visible to customers
One merchant already reached around a 25% customer return rate in less than a month of usage. Nothing overly advanced — just QR stamps and simple rewards.
We’re still refining the platform daily and learning a lot from merchant behavior and operations.
Curious question for business owners and customers here:
What actually makes YOU return to a café or shop repeatedly nowadays?
