Student retention and the PERFECT tutor

So from my observation it seems students cancle subscriptions for reasons not related to the tutor or even lesson quality. My conversion rate is pretty good around 43 percent and I have about 60 5 star reviews but it seems studnets dont stay long. Id get 3 new subscriptions and in the same week or a day later 1 or 2 older studnets would leave, some say why (personal reason) others say nothing at all. Most studnets stay for a few months though. Is this normal? It seems some times students are never satisfied and look for the PERFECT tutor or they just realize they have thousands of options for teachers

▲ 3 r/Preply

hey guys im a native Esl speaker from usa ive been on preply 1 year started at 3 usd, yes I know crazy low to attract students and it worked so I have some experience when it comes to price increase and rankings. Every time my rank goes up for example from 500 to 200 I raise my rate. This time was different. I literally had a super popular bagel at 9 usd so I raised my base rate 2 usd. checked my ranking very little dip so I raised it again 2 usd and bam im at 900 ranking 😑

I get it I bumped ot twice so the system took a hit but my qustion is should I lower my rate to get a better search result or let it naturally drop

also I have about 10 regular students my schedule is still 30 percent full so would my existing classes help my profile score to balance faster

ive actually been here before so I get it when you raise your rate you have to do it at the right time right amount and once so just waiting for a 900 ranking to drop back down what should I do

Btw ive done 500 classes 50plus 5 star review 4.8 ranking and went from 9 usd to 13 honestly really low
