Flight prices to Lisbon from Atlanta are cheaper than flying to Miami right now — here's how I found it

I've been obsessed with this problem for a while: most of us default to destinations we already know when planning a trip, but that's not always where the best value is.

A few weeks ago I ran the numbers for a June trip out of Atlanta with a ~$600 budget. The tool I'd been building surfaced Lisbon as a better deal than Miami or Cancun — cheaper flights, strong dollar, walkable city. I booked it. The trip was excellent.

The insight that keeps coming up: international fares to "bucket list" cities are often competitive with domestic beach towns, especially if you're flexible on dates and don't need peak season.

If you want to try the same kind of search for your home airport, I built a free tool that pulls real current prices and ranks destinations by how well they match your budget and vibe: triporacle.app

You put in your origin, dates, rough budget, and optionally a region or trip style (beach, culture, adventure). It checks live fares and surfaces destinations you might not have considered. Each result includes a full guide with neighborhoods, itinerary ideas, and practical tips.

Happy to answer questions about the Lisbon trip or the tool.
