I read this book I read this book a few years ago and I can’t seem to remember what it is but from what I can remember:
the main character along with many other people are born with certain powers and those powers are marked on their skin like a tattoo. either you’re born power or if you kill somebody who has a power they’ll lose their tattoo, and you will gain their power as well as a tattoo that marks what power you have. Main character had leadership power. He instead wanted the power to to breathe underwater. so during this town, wishing ceremonies sort of thing he wished that he didn’t even have his power and usually if you wish for a power, the person that you’re wishing to which I think was like a witch Would curse you, however, since he wished to have no power at all, he actually got put on this whole quest where he ended up meeting the witch and she revealed that she had every single power and her two original powers Was that she could kill people by touching them but also bring them back to life by touching them or something like that and she asks for the main character to kill her so he can absorb all of her powers and she can trust that he won’t abuse them and at first he says no, but she finds a way and he does end up killing her and he absorbs all of her powers (As well as the ability to breathe underwater) and For some reason, I can’t find the book anywhere
