Rough landing after a jump 5 months post-op. New clicking/popping, pain in deep ROM. Surgery on other hip in 4 days
Hello, I know that this was a bad idea on my part but for context,
I am 19 y/o M, basketball player training for college basketball and about 2-3 years ago I experienced Bi-lateral labrum tears and have combined fai on both left and right hip. I had surgery early in January and have had a very good recovery and was able to be mostly cleared for lower contact sporting activities and running many weeks ahead of schedule. I also will be having surgery on my left hip this coming thursday.
So two days ago, I was playing basketball and went up for a layup and landed a little out of control on the right leg (non-contact). Right after the rough landing I had a sharp pain on the outside of my hip which only lingered for about 20 mins. However, since that landing, I've experienced new clicking deep inside the joint that I haven't had earlier in my recovery. I also experience pain in deep ROM in every direction which I was experiencing prior to the landing as well but feels like it's gotten slightly worse.
I've been very concerned as my next surgery is so close and I'm hoping that it's just a standard flare up and not a potential retear or failed surgery. My surgeon is also extremely hard to contact so I might not get ahold of him prior to seeing him for surgery on Thursday.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
