Cat poop composting

I already posted this in the worm and zero waste sub, but I also want to post here because I see multiple posts about composting cat poop.

I have been thinking about ways to process cat waste. Could you have a black soldier fly set up process the cat poop, compostable litter, and kitchen waste AND THEN feed frozen pupae to your cat? I have read that the larvae break down harmful parasites that could be in cat poop (still wouldn’t put the stuff in my vegetable plot) and that black fly pupae are a pretty nutritious addition to a cat’s diet. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but am planning to, and figured I would share the idea in case anyone else was thinking about processing cat waste too.

cat poop worm loop

My own situation is that I’m hoping to do it indoors so I can keep it warm enough to function all year. What do you think? What sort of problems do you think could come up?

edit I was mistaken the larvae do not break down toxoplasma gondii
