Considering weight loss medication
Hello I’m a 21 year old woman and have been on a weight loss journey for a a little over 2 years. I originally weighed 86kgs and started my weight loss journey beginning of 2024. I now bounce between 66-68 kgs and I have been for the past year.
It’s been hard to lose the extra weight I need and I have been committed to exercising and eating in a deficit. My whole weight loss journey I have been weight lifting and doing progressive overload, I have been hitting PRs and trying to increase my weight every week or two. I started playing in a netball team, and I also run twice a week trying to increase my pace. I workout and do physical activity 5-6 times a week.
I’ll admit I’m not 100% strict on my deficit all the time but I do stick to it consistently, I just have a few days where I go out with family or friends and may indulge but nothing too crazy. I have also increased my calories to maintenance for 2-3 weeks after and went back down to a deficit as my body was use to my deficit.
My point is that I try to live by calories in calories out and it all takes time but I haven’t seen a difference in my weight for over a year, I’m not looking for a specific number on the scale just a look of fat loss in my body but I haven’t changed. It really affects my mental health and body image, I have been considering the use of weight-loss medication or peptides but I wanted to seek some advice from anyone who may have also gone through what I’m going through right now.
Thank you for any advice that can be given!
