I have been working as a QT at a small crypto shop (team is about 3 people), my salary is around 55k + a bonus. I’ve received an offer to join Brevan Howard in their risk program it’s around 100k + bonus.
I’ve been working in quant roles/internships for the past 8 months and enjoy them, but they’re all for smaller shops. Brevan I’ve been told is a pretty big name? I’m kind of out of the loop, obviously the role is Risk which can be quantitative but wonder if I can pivot closer to a trading role.
My CV doesn’t really have big names and this would be my first corporate job - advice on what you would do? Am I shoehorned into risk? Any honest advice is really appreciated 😁
My thoughts at the moment are that Brevan could look pretty impressive, and I’ll learn a lot. Where I am at the moment since it’s slightly smaller we are going for low hanging arbs; obviously start ups are always a bit of a risk too.
