How to reduce load times on Fallout 4?
I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand times, but the most recent posts I can find anywhere on the internet are from 2025.
My load times are 30-60 seconds at best, multiple minutes at worst, and it kills the momentum of the game. For more patient people this might be fine, but for me it essentially makes the game unplayable to have to stare at a black screen for ages every time I go through a door. It's boring and ruins the flow, and it's not the experience I had the last time I played this game.
There are no solutions that I can find. Mods don't work with the current game patch. Making my antivirus ignore it doesn't do anything. I can't find .ini edits that would work. My current computer is significantly better than my last one, and the old one played the game just fine. I'm completely lost for solutions. It would be really disappointing to have to give up on this game, but I am just not willing to stare at nothing for minutes at a time when I could be playing something that works.
