In M1 and M4, we see melty mouth at exactly the same time - 20 minutes and 37 seconds into the films. There are many other beautifully alligned moments when they're watched side by side. I won't spoil any other moments for anyone. Best to experience it for yourself.
You can convince yourself there's a conversation playing out between the two bodies of work.
It kind of feels like watching them both for the first time again. It's a new experience. And it brought me some of the same feeling of watching M1 for the first time in 1999.
Is this a known thing by many of you?
Oh yeah - mute M1 (since you probably know it by heart anyway) and let the audio play for M4. Or let both audio tracks play. I found myself dialing down one or the other at differrent points when both tracks were playing.
