Help me diagnose if I have thrips on my monstera!
hi guys!! My monstera is not looking so happy lately!! I want her to feel better! I’m suspecting thrips But I can’t really tell!
I have had her since October 2025. while she has been here, she has unfurled 4 leaves. I tend to underwater her a bit so the tips are browning a little, oops. The pot has drainage and she gets watered about every 2 weeks. She’s in a very chunky soil mix. She gets a nice amount of indirect sunlight; even though she’s facing the window, the sun points to the right (as shown by the arrows). I fertilised her about a month ago.
Every now and then I pass by and see a bit of a see-through stickiness on the and I wipe off with a cloth. Thought it was weird but I didn’t see anything wrong with it. It seems that now the potential thrips are attacking the newest leaf on my monstera!! The others have been fine up until now, but are starting to look the same as well.
It’s strange because I haven’t brought in almost any new plants since October, and I quarantined them. They also don’t live close to the monstera, this one only has 2 other older plants nearby.
I know thrips love monsteras, but I thought they would be easier to spot! So I come to you, plant clinic <3 thank you
