We'll be traveling south in June from NJ to Norfolk, so I'd love to hear your favorite spots along the route. Looking at Sat/Sun, stopping overnight (Chincoteague?).

My one regret so far is it looks like Wallops Flight Facility is closed on Sundays but we need to be in Norfolk for Sunday night.

Any tips on beach towns to check out (Lewes?, Rehoboth?), local seafood (I've heard of The Great Machi Pongo Clam Shack) and where would be the best place to stay overnight would be appreciated!

Trying to fit the pieces together for a June roadtrip. I understand avoiding 95 as much as possible. Heading North on the Western route and coming back down the coast.

Main priorities: UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, UVA, Princeton.
Considering the route, would be very interested in seeing some Civil War sites: possibly Appomattox, Harper's Ferry and Antietam. I know we can't devote the proper time, but just to walk around and get a feel for the places and be able to picture them better.

Will try to take Skyline Drive north from Charlottesville. I run out of steam between HF/Antietam and Princeton, but Gettysburg is too much for this trip. Anything good on the PA route?

Will spend more time on the way North (probably 3 days, 2 nights). On the return leg, I've got nothing between Norfolk and Charleston, but will probably be ready to head home rather than hit Colonial Williamsburg or something. Where is a good place to stay over on the return trip?
