Halifax, NS - The upcoming documentary The Bookstore That Never Sleeps has been officially selected to screen at the 21^(st) Annual Doc Edge Film Festival in New Zealand, an Oscar®-qualifying festival and one of the world's leading showcases for documentary storytelling.

In a sleepy port town, Elizabeth's Books is a hidden gem that comes to life only after dark. This documentary explores the mysterious, nocturnal bookstore and its eccentric owner, whose late-night hours offer a rare sanctuary for night owls, wanderers, and those seeking solace in the quiet glow of books. The bookstore is a living tribute to a beloved friend, whose essence quietly echoes through every shelf and book.

Filming took place in the UNESCO World Heritage town of Lunenburg, capturing its maritime charm and ethereal atmosphere through intimate cinematography and a contemplative tone. The film creates a meditative space where memory, grief, and community intertwine.

The Doc Edge Film Festival's recognition includes screenings in Auckland and Wellington. The Bookstore That Never Sleeps is slated for its world premiere in June 2026.
