Anyone dealt with double major/course planning issues w Stop 1?

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to see if anyone’s been through something similar because I’m feeling a bit stuck with course planning right now.

I’m currently doing a BCom at UniMelb and my intended pathway has always been a double major in Accounting + Marketing. Earlier in my degree, I had an enrolment issue with ACCT10002, so I contacted Stop 1 because I thought it was just a study plan/enrolment system issue. I was advised to take the subject as a breadth/free points subject so I could continue progressing through Accounting.

At the time, I understood that this would limit future Level 1 elective space, but I didn’t realise it could later create a structural issue that would stop me from fitting both majors into the standard 300-point structure.

Fast forward to now, I ran into issues enrolling in ACCT20001 and after meeting with course planning, the current “standard” solution being suggested is dropping down to a single Accounting major (or changing my second major).

The thing is, my extracurriculars and professional direction have all pretty intentionally been built around the combination of Accounting + Marketing specifically, so I’m trying to explore every possible option before giving one up.

I’ve already:
- provided the previous Stop 1 advice/documentation
- explained the situation to course planning
- asked about options like overloading/extending my degree
- requested further review/escalation if possible

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue,
successfully received a course planning exception/special variation, been allowed to exceed the standard point structure, or found another workaround through FBE/course planning?

Would really appreciate hearing anyone’s experience because I honestly don’t know how flexible the university can be in situations like this.
Thanks :)
