Background: severe PCOS with androgenic alopecia, starting around 2022 but I never tried anything for it until September 2025.

Routine:

From September 2025 until March 2026-

- 5% topical minoxidil once a day
- caffeine shampoo almost every day
- scalp massager almost every day
- 3x polynucleotide injections starting in november 2025 and ending in january 2026

In March I started microneedling my scalp once a week alongside my normal routine. This consisted of-

- 18 needle head 1.5mm depth once every 4 weeks (no serum)
-18 needle head 0.75mm depth once a week (with minoxidil)

I take supplements after a blood test showed low iron, low b12 and low folic acid.

I also take metformin, glp-1s and berberine for pcos.

Verdict:
- the minoxidil is the biggest game changer, but needs to be consistent. I stopped using it for a week while I was quite ill and I noticed my hair started to fall out again.

- I definitely think the polynucleotides have helped, but very expensive- I don’t think they’re necessary if you can’t afford them

- I think adding microneedling at 0.75mm weekly alongside minoxidil has accelerated my results
