I’ve been supporting Kings XI Punjab since 2010, and honestly this has to be the most frustrating season we’ve ever had even if we somehow finish in the top 2 or top 4. This hurts more than 2014 and even the 2025 final because everything was finally in our hands.
We were table toppers halfway through the season. The squad was good enough(we got exposed later on), the momentum was there, and all we had to do was get the basics right death bowling, fielding, and handling pressure. Instead, we completely lost control of games we should’ve won.
The unnecessary controversies didn’t help either, and the whole social media drama just made other fanbases hate us even more. At one point it genuinely felt like the entire league was waiting for us to collapse which we did eventually.
What hurts the most is that this wasn’t a weak team overachieving. This actually looked like a title-winning side, and we threw away our own advantage with poor death bowling and horrible fielding. Even if we still make the playoffs, it honestly won’t feel deserved after the way we bottled such a strong position.
