Who is at fault for incorrect island placement
My kitchen designer gave me plans with the wrong measurements. 2 of the cabinets didn't fit and she is replacing them. I now realize she also indicated the wrong distance on the island by 3 inches. This caused the island to move closer to the hallway, which in turn means my 12" overhang countertop for seating will go into the hallway. She says I should just make it 11" and also claims she "knew better" than the architect by increasing the island distance. The island movement also means the lighting above won't be centered. She will not admit her mistake and won't pay to have the island moved to the correct place. She says it is my fault for not being on site during the construction and adjusting the island placement. She claims she told me to be there - she did not. My builder is amazing and has done a terrific job building my entire house. She is blaming him as well. What recourse do I have. I thought builders were supposed to follow the kitchen designer's plans. Was I supposed to double check all her measurements myself? I will also add that I supplied her with my architect drawings that specifically indicated where the island should go.
