Is it safe to upload documents to the company AI?

I’m an intern and my manager asked me to modify a spreadsheet containing company info. However I don’t have a lot of skill with excel so I was planning to just figure it out as I go. Our work computers have Copilot built into them with a license I think the company pays for. I also heard some of the senior managers say that it has firewalls that prevent data from being leaked. I was thinking I could upload the spreadsheet to Copilot and ask it to provide me with a list of features I could improve and how to do so. Is it safe to do this? I know uploading intellectual documents to public AI like ChatGPT or Gemini is strictly prohibited but is it possible with Copilot?

I started my internship 2 weeks ago and originally when HR contacted me with an offer, I agreed on a set hourly wage. However I was talking to one of my coworkers and they said hourly wage for interns is decided based on what level of school they are in. So freshmen are paid the lowest and seniors the highest. I’m a Junior right now and apparently I agreed on the current rate for sophomores. So I could potentially be getting an extra $2 per hour.

I’m considering contacting my HR representative about this just to ask if my current rate is correct and I could send them my transcript to confirm what year I’m in. Should I wait a few weeks longer just to settle in more? Or contact them now? Or is it not even possible to get the pay raise if I already agreed on my current wage at the start of the internship?
