Expression interest Advise

I want to apply for a Grade 6 role through an Expression of Interest. I’m currently an EO and have applied for the role, and I’ve been invited to an interview. What are my chances of being successful? Has anyone been in a similar situation and been kept on or offered the role after the interview?

Why DWP hiring decision Maker a HEO's without experience

My line manager is new, alongside another newly appointed line manager, yet he is responsible for managing Decision Makers despite having little or no knowledge of the role. During Teams meetings, whenever colleagues ask him questions, he says he will ask other colleagues to support them because he doesn't know the answers himself.

Why is the DWP appointing people into management positions when they do not appear to have the knowledge or experience needed to lead teams effectively? He comes across as careless, disorganised, and uninterested, yet he is managing a team responsible for making important legal decisions.

In my experience, morale within the team is already dropping. The focus from senior leadership appears to be heavily weighted towards statistics and performance figures rather than supporting staff or ensuring high-quality decision-making. It often feels as though our SEO is more interested in the numbers than in the wellbeing of the team.

My line manager also seems more concerned with appearing to do the right thing when other senior managers are present. However, when they are not around, his attitude appears to change, and he comes across as less engaged and less supportive.

I am pleased that the Success Profile statements are changing because, in my opinion, the current approach does not always seem to identify candidates with the skills, knowledge, and leadership qualities needed for these roles.

Overall, I no longer feel motivated to remain in this team. The lack of knowledgeable leadership, the impact on morale, and the focus on statistics over people have left me wanting to leave.

Applying multiple roles

I want some advice. I've applied for 20 Civil Service roles because I only seem to score 3s. I'm not really sure what that means, as I've never made it to the interview stage. I'm mainly applying for technical roles.

Has anyone else applied for multiple roles and found that improving their personal statement each time, based on feedback, eventually led to a job offer?

I suppose I feel that the more I apply, the higher my chances are, like the lottery, you've got to be in it to win it!

I applying for technical roles within civil service is frustrating. I am rubbish , not writing what they are looking for? or is passing sift hard? I have dyslexia every application is fail.

Application says feedback none there.

I applied to work for a government agency, and only completed the test. It now shows feedback but nothing there it's empty. I am really keen to get the job. The application is 1 month behind, due to technical issues their end. Thoughts have i failed? Will they ever get back to me?
