throwaway for obvious reasons. but I have a rent stabilized apartment in Chelsea ($1,500)

im super aware of how lucky I am and how many people want this. I’m a born and raised new yorker, but lately I’ve been having the urge to travel for couple months to a year. so I want to sublet my apartment. My biggest fear is that I’ll find someone and when the time comes that they are suppose to move out… they won’t want too, then I have a squatter situation.

can anyone offer helpful advice or experiences. I have a great apartment that I don’t want to lose but I really want to travel and see more of the world, before I’m older and I can’t anymore.
