Change of Heart

I’ve been at my current job for +5 years super chill and love the small crew environment. We’ve got a bunch of clients and they offered me a promotion when I first tried to leave to go work for my hometown. Which would be in effect July. The counter offer I got from them was decent enough to stay which in hindsight I should’ve pushed them to go farther than they did. It’s been about 4 months since that all happened. I got another job offer for a spot 4 hours north of me. Almost double the pay which is insanely wild to me. Plus all the benefits I could ask for. I met with their team which is also another small and tight knit team. The job is one community, less responsibilities and less headache. I’ve been trying my hardest to keep giving my current company chances to make things right for me. I’m feeling like just a number and they want to keep screwing me until I blow up. Piling on more and more admin responsibilities with no compensation. Lying to me that I’ll get help from my supers but they don’t do jack for me. I think I’m going to commit to the new job and give it a honest full send. If anyone has ever been in a similar situation tell me how it went for you. I feel like I do want to stay because I’m close to family and I love the crew I work with but it’s still not enough to get where I want to be without feeling like I’m drowning.
