I live in Varanasi and I talk to tourists at the ghats almost every week. I keep hearing the same struggles over and over, so I wanted to ask a bigger audience.

1.How did you plan your trip and which apps, sites, or YouTube channels did you actually use?
What was the one thing you wish someone told you BEFORE you arrived?
Did you overpay for anything like autos, boats, or shopping? How did you figure out fair prices?

Every answer helps me understand the gap between tourist Varanasi and local Varanasi.
I think most visitors only experience about 20% of what the city offers and I want to understand why.
