Diabetic macular edema
I was diagnosed with DME 2 years ago but it was not clinically indicated. Even with the DME I had weird shaped in vision (almost like when you look into bright light and close your eyes and see the orb light).
During my 4 month follow up; I was told that the vision is now affecting my central vision (even though my vision is as good); but the did my first vgentifli injection last month. Within 3 days I had significantly bendy vision and 3 days ago I developed a black spot in my central vision (blind spot but black). I was really scared that the DME got worse; my appointment was today for my second injection but they said that my eye has responded well. I explained the significantly wavy lines and the black dot on centre and the doctor says that in my oct she sees tissue loss in my macular (not a macular hole) and could be this. Has anyone experienced this and it’s gotten better? Trying to understand how my vision was fine and now worse. The only logical explanation now is that my retina cells which were used to fluid being there are stretched and need time still to heal. Any advice?
