~1600mg of Ibuprofen weekly every month for seven years.
I 19f just recently got diagnosed with gastritis. It is one of the most painful sensations I've ever felt. Feels like a knife being twisted in my upper abdomen every thirty seconds . My doctor didn't give me a specific cause for the problem but after digging through the internet I found that prolonged use of NSAIDs can cause ulcers. Now the horrible part is that I was prescribed 400mg Ibuprofen (was told to use up to 4 times a day) for my excruciating period cramps ever since I was about 13 years old.
I'm scared I'm going to have to deal with this for life, and I was never warned of the risks at all. I would do anything to get this pain to go away and go back to normal.
Has anyone else had this extreme of NSAID use and have recovered fully? And if so how long did it take?
