Obsession - 2026
Firstly, this was one hell of a horror movie I have seen in awhile.
I am still disturbed about the idea that Bear is an evil person. Sure he lacked conviction and was a coward. But aren’t there many people having the same traits with an unrequited crush? First of all he didn’t believe the wish stick was a real thing. He wanted something to vent out his feelings. Second, I agree he understood that Nikki is not herself and kept lying to himself. But what else could he have done? Nobody would have believed him that Nikki has turned into someone else just because he broke a stick. Thirdly, I saw people saying that he kept denying to his friends Ian and Sarah that everything was fine between him and Nikki. When Nikki killed Sarah, how could he have known that she would take such a drastic step? That went beyond reasoning. So far, she had only done minor nuisances. He even took steps to admit her in the hospital and get Ian to reverse wish his wish. His only option was to kill himself. Surely, he would try alternate ways to solve the situation?
Don’t attack me too much. I simply want to broaden my thinking.
