[US-AK] Back deck rotting away rant/advice

I moved into an apartment in February. It snows a ton where I live so the back deck being covered in snow and ice didn’t exactly shock me. I went out there 2 weeks ago and discovered that the entire second floor deck is literally rotting away. Look up at the roof and theres a really obvious spot where there SHOULD be a gutter but obviously there hasnt been one for a long time which is causing it to drain onto my deck and make all the wood rot. Obviously i put in a maintenance request with lots of information and pictures and blocked the area off because im nottttt falling through the floor. A repair man finally comes by yesterday takes one look at it and says oh yeah this whole thing is rotting and will need to be re-decked. Dont use this area of the house as its not safe to stand or walk on. He had no idea it was this bad and said he did not have the skills to fix it.

Its not like the back deck is the most important thing to me but I am just mad that a safety hazard like that was in a place im paying so much money for. Like what else is hiding in this place.

I suspect that our management company is going to take their sweet time on sending anyone out there to get this done as that has been a struggle weve been having. When i called about this a few months ago i was told “theres nothing we can do about sending someone out faster because we dont know the repair companies schedule.”

Basically im wondering, how annoying would you be about this? Worth making a big stink about it especially if they don’t send someone to repair it for some time? And if you were to mar a big deal about this how would you do it? Thanks!
