Folfox stopped working
My husband 37 diagnosed September 2025. Stage 4 rectal cancer , met to the liver , lung , lymph nodes. KRAS G12v . I’m his wife 31. We just got married in April.
Started chemo October . Completed 15 cycles of folfox his CEA started at 37.5
Last one was 10.2.
First pet scan showed the chemo was working he had significant drop in his CEA levels and tumors showed shrinkage. Doctor said he was “responding amazing”
Petscan 2, little over 6 months in folfox has stopped working and new tumor growth is showing. Some of his pain has come back as well.
Has us completely in shock. How did he go from doing amazing with a significant CEA drop to it stopped working. This has has shook. We stay so positive he has such a good mind set but this really set him back.
We start folfiri Monday. I know with KRAS G12V it limits us beyond folfiri
I’m reaching out to the community to see if anyone has had a similar path and any advice on what to do next in this situation What happens if folfiri stops working too.
Do I get him established at moffit or mayo .. We’re in swfl currently at FCS. I don’t even know what to ask I just wish I had answers and more confident path
