Took home injured crow, list of concerns below.

I was walking my dog in a forest tonight around 12 AM, when all of a sudden I saw something on the ground try and jump away as we were walking closer to it. I realized it was a crow and that it seemed injured, although not bleeding. It can’t fly, and I’m starting to notice it’s leaning to the right when it tried to stand up.

Anyways, the crow is super nice! I was petting it on the head and then I eventually just took my shirt off and picked it up and put it in a box that I had in my car and brought it home with me.

Concern #1: I saw a cop on the way home, so I actually flagged him down and asked him and he said that apparently wildlife rescue might not do anything about it????? Full capacity etc.

Concern #2: i’ve researched that this is actually a youth crow as it’s not an adult yet, I’m worried that maybe it’s not injured and I just stole a crow that’s practising flying???? 😭 I’m unsure, but this crow is really chill.

Concern #3: I only noticed one, but I did see a flea crawl over its wing, I did a quick look over his entire body, including underneath his wings, and I didn’t see any others, but I low-key have a bug phobia and I’m a little bit itchy😭💔

I’m wondering where should I bring it/who to call first. And the Internet suggested to not give it any water or food and I just wanna ask everyone here if that’s correct!

Btw I found it in Vancouver BC :)
