Howdy! My father in law always asks me at what distance can I detect X activity source, my answer is always it depends. Anyhoot here is a simple software that shows sensitivity of different sized scintillators and what the statistics of that looks like. This is a rough draft and an afternoon project.

Crystal sizes for 2x2,2x4x16 and 4x4x16 are accurate from my own experiments as well as the 1cm3. Please note physicsRcool, this is not a geant4 simulation running on a dedicated server. This is just a representation of sensitivity and count rate.
