[3.x Spoilers] This patch cycle is soulcrushing (in a good way)
Or why playing through the entirety of Lahai-Roi arc in the span of a few days is a big, big mistake.
Genuinely I'm just completely broken by this patch, I know it's just a game etc. etc. but man I haven't been hit this hard by something fictional in a long while. The problem with doing it this way, I imagine, is that all the catharsis from getting Aemeath back so 'soon' after losing her, is that you don't really get to process it in either direction. It kinda feels like experiencing both at the same time.
I've been listening to the 3.1 soundtrack a bunch because it's just that good but most of the tracks set me off. Feels like someone stabbed me in the heart.
The Denia plot in 3.3... That goes without saying. Some parts of it hit way too close to home and I probably shouldn't have underestimated the disclaimer everyone was putting on it before playing it.
Kuro has absolutely cooked with this arc. Between the lore and letting Rover be vulnerable and fleshing them out as a character, it has just been something wonderful to behold. I feel like they've taken some insane storytelling gambles for a gacha game and trusted their audience enough for them to pay off, that's all the more credit to them.
I'm sorry that this is all so rambly but I haven't really had the chance to talk with anyone about this game properly and certainly not the weight of all these recent patches.
10/10 game, ready to suffer more.
