We might be getting the oldest winner ever tonight

We might be getting the oldest winner ever tonight

Just realized (and needed to check that this is true) that tonight could possibly see the oldest winner in the Eurovision history, if Italy or Finland would come on the top of the scoreboard.

Both Sal Da Vinci (57) and Linda Lampenius (56) would pass Dave Benton (50), and either one of them would become only the second winner ever in their 50s.

Eurovision Director Martin Green denies in Dutch newspaper moving Israel to Asian Song Contest

Translation from Dutch to English:

Eurovision Director: 'Moving Israel to Asian Song Contest total nonsense'

There are no ongoing talks regarding a relocation of Israel to the new Eurovision annex in Asia. Festival Director Martin Green told Het Parool on Monday evening that.

Green was responding to an article by a major international Eurovision website. The article reported that the EBU had already entered into talks regarding a new spot for Israel, due to objections in Europe against the country's participation. "That is complete nonsense," responded Green. "I have no idea where that story comes from. Whether it would be a good idea? It is not on the table at all."

What does being successful at ESC mean to you?

The closer it gets to the Eurovision semifinals and the final, the more passionate the conversations here get. I feel that it’s partially because we all seem to have rather different ideas of what being successful at ESC means.

For some it’s only about winning, whereas others think any final placement in top 5 or top 10 or being on the left hand side of the scoreboard would definitely count as success. And for some, just getting to the final would already be worth a little happy dance.

So what does being successful at the Eurovision mean to you? When would make you happy as a final placement for your home country or your favorite song?
