Got the results from my MRI...
I injured myself 2 months ago while bouldering. I came down on my feet and as i squatted down and started falling on my back i felt my knee twisting inwards and it made a very loud noise. I wasn't able to weight bear for a week and ended up using crutches for 3 weeks.
At the moment im walking normal and im able to do prehab at the gym. I do have pains and swelling especially towards the evening. The knee does give out every now and then but feels ok most of the time. I had an x-ray and at CT scan done the night of the accident and they both came back clear. I had an MRI a week ago.
I have
- a Grade 2 tear in my ACL
- a 24mm tear in my lateral meniscus (Is this big? i feel like that is a very big tear...)
- a ¨kissing contusion¨ in my femur and tibia which has cause some bone bruising in both bones. I also have an 2mm compression in my tibia.
-I have sprained my LCL, PFL, MCL, POL.
I'm still waiting on an phone call from my orthopedic surgeon weather i will have an surgery or not. I'm quite surprised how much i managed to damage in the knee since the accident doesn't really look that bad (i got it on a video).
I'm stressing a little bit about if i need a surgery because I'm about to start my last 6months of school in august and I will be travelling a lot for my studies the whole autumn so I wouldn't be able to attend PT-appointments weekly.
