I am temporarily in Aachen, Germany and live in POHA House. I fell asleep while cooking and set off the fire alarm. The fire department came to turn it off. There was no damage. But I now have a 600 Euro fine.
My bad, my mistake, but can I ask for leniency?

I have sent several requests to POHA House - but have not received the original invoice from the fire department. I find (on the internet) that I must appeal with 14 days. 600 euros is a lot - but am also puzzled that POHA House is not sharing the original fire department invoice. (They sent me their own invoice).

I am posting this here - as on reddit it said you can ask Berliners anything. Thank you!
