I got 4 quotes and so far they all are between $19k to $26k for roughly the same carrier unit in NoVA, with a difference of maybe $1-$2k between variable vs 2-speed. The quotes vary by warranty from 10 years on parts but labor warranty is 1 year to 12 years. Is this the new normal? I need AC right away with little kids but I feel like this is going rate now?

When I look at the equipment it’s roughly $8-10k from hvac direct. Rest is all labor I guess.

Location is Northern Virginia so a bit of premium is expected. Any advice?
