For context I was playing France in 1939 blitzkrieg and I was fighting Iraq when Iraq sends 2 militias 1 infantry and one AA and I respond by bombarding them with two artilleries and sending one mechanized infantry to defend the province, the artilleries land their first attack and it doesnt do much damage and then they just disappear about 10 minutes after the artilleries hit Iraq isnt at war with any other country and I didnt occupy his last province the mechanized infantry didnt even have time to engage.
