Shockingly bad customer service
I am a type I diabetic. I use the Libre 2 and when it works it is excellent. Wile on holiday in Europe I had a sensor fail on me (after three days of use and in the middle of the morning). No obvious reason for the failure - it just died. I had to buy a replacement. It cost over £80 but worked perfectly.
On return to the UK I sent the failed sensor and packaging back to Abbott for analysis. They refuse to refund the cost of the replacement but offered a spare - I'm on a free prescription, so this is of no use to me.
Nearly eight months on they stillrefuse to engage, I have no news of why the sensor failed, a manager on Customer Relations told me this is probably because so many are returned every day.
Abbott put profit way above customer care. When annual profits are in tens of millions of dollars, it is truly awful they haven't the confidence to compensate customers or deal with them more truthfully over the phone.
