I got a 162 on quant the last time I took the GRE (which was not much above the 50th percentile lol). I don't think my issue is foundation, because most times I can figure out the solution to any problem. What kills me is that it takes FOREVER to do so sometimes, and if it doesn't, I make the stupidest errors out of carelessness, speeding, nerves, etc (for example, doing a simple arithmetic calculation in my head wrong, forgetting that negative numbers exist, adding instead of subtracting, etc). I could probably learn more test-taking strategies/techniques as well.
Previously I worked off a bunch of question banks (https://gre.myprepclub.com/forum/gre-premium-quant-question-banks-topic-wise-2700-questions-34207.html), focusing on one topic at a time. Honestly many of these questions were a little too difficult compared to what is actually found on the GRE and I think I spent too much time, both studying and on each question, trying to figure out these niche problems. In between the question banks I'd occasionally take a timed test and do mediocre-ly due to running out of time or making stupid errors, not because I didn't know how to solve the problem.
I just started GregMat as my plan. He absolutely knows his stuff and has great advice but--this has nothing to do with him--I personally hate watching videos so I can't gel with the format of his lessons. Videos take way too long and it's hard to skip ahead because it's easy to miss something. Like if I could get all his content in purely written format that would be perfect. So is that the solution? Just use the study books instead? Keep practicing exclusively timed questions because my foundation is decent?
Thanks for help.
