Rent or Sell Single Family Home?
Hi, I own a 3 Bedroom 2 Bath house. Had lived in it for 9 years. I’m moving across the nation and want to know whether to rent out or sell. If rent, self manage with friend or get Management Company.
House Cost $290k, value $500k now. Mortgage rate 2.5%.
I’ll be moving to the opposite corner of the US. 40YO married with young kid.
Your advice would be appreciated, whether to sell and invest in VOO or equivalent ETF vs keeping such a low rate mortgage while self managing or fixing it up. I will have my job taking a majority of my time after I move but this mortgage rate and home value seems like a no brainer to keep.
I’ve worked a lot on the house myself and it is way better than when I bought it. I expect minor maintenance with possibly replacing roof in the next 10 years.
