Getting tired of almost every post treating it like Blue is only a sensible choice in terms of being selfless.
The impact of choosing red is not "Nothing". Its not "Live" vs "Chance of Dying". The scenario is complex and other people dying influences your life as well
Choosing blue is the most likely to result in an ideal outcome for yourself (least negative impact on your own life)
Choosing blue is also far riskier, in that a non ideal outcome carries a vastly heavier cost.
I'd choose blue BECAUSE i AM selfish. I want that best case scenario. And i am willing to increase the possible negative impact for those who choose red, to increase my own chances of the ideal outcome.
Id rather trust that 50% of people are going to choose blue, such that i get my ideal outcome, than to trust that 100% of people are going to choose red, such that i get my ideal outcome.
And considering how many people have already declared blue as their choice --- you likely would die anyway when choosing red, due to the chaos and destruction that would occur as a result of 40% of people suddenly dying
