Why does this sub act like it is terrible to be proud of your profession?
I understand how cringe Ricky Rescue types are or how people can get big headed. But sometimes it seems people here think if you tell anyone you are an EMT, including friends or family. Or if you show any pride in doing EMS you are automatically a douchebag or something.
My neighbors know I work EMS, they have seen me get in my car with my work shirt on and have asked me about it. My friends know because I stopped hanging out as much during school. I don’t think I am better than anyone but I am proud for getting my license.
