Took Step 1 about 7 days ago (non-US IMG). I had a pretty solid prep phase (~8 months) and my practice scores were consistently in a good range:
NBME 29-32: mid/high 70s
NBME 33: 85% (1 week before exam)
UWSA1: 68%
UWSA2: 79% (3 weeks out)
Free 120: 80% (4 days before)
During the actual exam, I felt relatively okay and didn't feel overwhelmed.
But since the exam, things have changed a lot mentally. I keep recalling questions and realizing mistakes. So far I've counted around 60-70 incorrect, and it's been bothering me a lot. I even wake up at night thinking about questions I might have gotten wrong.
I ve been a wreck for about a week now.
For those who've already received results:
Is it normal to mostly remember mistakes after the exam?
Did anyone feel like this and still end up passing?
Would really appreciate some perspective because the waiting period has been tougher than expected.

Took Step 1 about 2 weeks ago (non-US IMG).

Prep was pretty consistent over several months, and my practice scores were in a comfortable range going in. During the exam, I didn’t feel great but also not terrible—just neutral.

What’s been surprising is how I’ve felt after the exam.
I keep randomly remembering questions and second-guessing my answers. It feels like I’m only recalling the ones I might have gotten wrong, which is making the wait pretty stressful.

For people who’ve already gotten their results:

Did you also feel like you were remembering mostly mistakes afterward?

Did that feeling match your actual result?

Trying to figure out if this is just normal post-exam anxiety or something to actually worry about.

Hey everyone, just wanted to get this off my chest.

I took Step 1 about 2 weeks ago (non-US IMG). Prep went on for ~8 months and my practice tests were generally in a comfortable range, so I walked into the exam feeling reasonably okay. During the test itself, nothing felt too out of control either.

But ever since it ended, my brain has been doing the opposite of helping me 😅
I keep randomly remembering questions and second-guessing what I picked. It’s like every day I recall a few more and convince myself they were wrong. It’s gotten to the point where it’s affecting my sleep a bit.

I know this is probably common, but it doesn’t feel normal when you’re in it.

For people who’ve already been through this phase — did you also feel like you were remembering mostly the ones you got wrong? And how did things turn out in the end?

Would really appreciate hearing others’ experiences because this waiting period is way tougher than I expected.
