Frontman: open-source AI coding agent that runs inside frontend apps

Frontman is for a specific problem: AI coding agents often edit frontend files without seeing the running app, built for technical people.

Why try it:

- select/click UI before asking for edits

- agent gets DOM, screenshot, logs, routes, source mappings

- works with Astro, Next.js, Vite, WordPress

- open source

Latest release added Astro content collections support.
And it's fully OSS, self hostable etc

Just released our AI agent plugin for wordpress

Hi folks, we just managed to release my first plugin for Wordpress - Frontman.

What is Frontman?
Its something i've been working on for the past half year or so, its a new kind of approach to agents, deeply integrated into frameworks instead of generic once like claude-code etc.
Think of it like Base44/Lovable but for your existing sites/apps.

What is Frontman for wordpress?
Basically, you can now just point at something in your wordpress site, ask the agent to do something, and it'll happen! you can select specific elements, you can go to specific pages. no need to guess and spend hours on dashboard searches.

How is it different from what Wordpress is shipping in core?
This is a full agent with a tailor-made agentic-harness that works on everything in wordpress - plugins, content, images, themes etc. we also deeply integrate to some themes and plugins to offer a much better experience - i'm happy to go more in depth on the architecture, or you can just look at the code 😄

It's fully open source, including the agentic harness and all the tools - you're always able to self-host for free.

And it's currently free while in beta, so please check us out.
