ACL Avultion Fracture

Hi, I’m 26. I met with an accident on April 17 and injured my knee. Initially, I did nothing for about a week, and then I consulted an orthopedic surgeon. The doctor said surgery wasn’t needed, put me in a brace locked at 0° extension, and asked me to come back after 2 weeks.

I met him again today, and he removed the brace and told me to start weight bearing.

However, I still can’t bend my leg properly. My knee flexion is only around 70°, and it hurts a lot if I try to bend beyond that.

I also met a physiotherapist, and they gave me some exercises to do.

I’ll be meeting my doctor again after 2 weeks for an X-ray review.

Has anyone here had a similar experience? It’s been 4 weeks since the injury. I can walk a little better now, but it still feels awkward because I was in a brace for so long. I also don’t feel confident while walking yet.

How long does it usually take to walk normally again and climb stairs comfortably?

I’m the sole breadwinner in my family, and I need to get back to the office as soon as possible.

Please share your advice or experience. It would really help.

Hi M26. I met with an accident and had an ACL avulsion fracture of the tibia in my left knee. My doctor said surgery isn't necessary since I have full extension, and he put me in a brace for 2 weeks so the bone can heal.

I wanted to know if anyone has experienced this injury non-surgically. How long did it take to walk normally and climb stairs?

I'm really scared because my family depends on me, and I'm the sole breadwinner. I need to get back to work as soon as possible."
